A Bathroom Reimagined for Everyday Luxury

A thoughtful renovation can completely change the way a familiar space feels.

For this bathroom transformation, the goal was to create a space that felt lighter, more refined, and better suited to everyday living. What was once a straightforward bathroom was reimagined through a more intentional layout, elevated materials, and carefully considered architectural details.

The result is a retreat that feels timeless rather than trend-driven; balancing function with a quiet sense of luxury.

A Brighter Take on the Primary Bath

The original primary bathroom was defined by darker finishes and traditional details that gave the space a heavier feel. The renovation introduced an entirely new sense of lightness.

Custom cabinetry by Walker Woodworking provides purposeful storage while giving the room a tailored, built-in quality. The vanities are topped with Calacatta Miraggio polished quartz, selected through Harkey Tile & Stone. The same quartz carries into the shower at the bench, niche shelf, and curb, creating subtle continuity throughout the room.

Natural stone adds another layer of depth. Oriental White honed marble appears across the primary bath, including 12x24 wall tile, a herringbone pattern on the main floor, and vertical hex tile on the shower floor. Rather than competing for attention, the different formats allow one material to create variation throughout the space.

Polished nickel plumbing fixtures from Brizo bring a refined finish to the room, while a Glacier eight-light chandelier and Camille sconces with linen shades add warmth and softness through the lighting.

Rather than relying on a single statement feature, the finished bathroom comes together through these layers: custom millwork, natural stone, polished hardware, lighting, and carefully considered proportions.

The transformation feels substantial yet understated, a bathroom rebuilt to function beautifully today while remaining timeless for years to come.

Making Space for the Tub

One of the most striking transformations within the primary bath is the tub area.

What was once a visually heavier corner of the bathroom is now an open, serene focal point. A Signature Hardware freestanding soaking tub creates a sculptural moment within the room, paired with a Brizo floor-mounted tub filler in polished nickel.

Overhead, the Glacier chandelier gives the tub its own presence without overwhelming the space. The surrounding Oriental White marble and lighter finishes allow each element to feel connected to the rest of the bathroom.

Rather than simply replacing one fixture with another, the renovation changed the entire experience of this part of the room. Cleaner lines and a freestanding silhouette give the bath a greater sense of openness and permanence.

It is a small reminder of what thoughtful construction can accomplish; the most impactful change is not always adding more, but creating space for the right element to take focus.

A New Perspective in Blue

The ensuite bathroom takes a different approach to transformation.

Where the primary bath leans soft and serene, this space embraces color and character. Blue becomes the defining thread through the tile selections, giving the room personality while remaining grounded in classic materials.

Origin Sky Blue tile brings color to the shower walls, complemented by matching Sky Blue liner trim. On the shower floor, an elongated hex mosaic in Blue Celeste and Thassos introduces a smaller-scale pattern and another layer of blue. The main bathroom floor is finished in Bali Diamond 12x24 tile, providing a quieter foundation for the more expressive shower.

Like the primary bath, the ensuite features custom Walker Woodworking cabinetry and a Calacatta Miraggio polished quartz vanity top. Carrying the quartz into the shower bench, niche shelf, and curb helps connect the room’s bolder tile choices with the material palette used elsewhere in the renovation.

A polished chrome plumbing suite and a two-light bath fixture complete the space, keeping the finishes crisp against the richer blue tones.

The result is a bathroom with its own identity that still feels connected to the home as a whole. It is a reminder that renovation does not have to erase character in pursuit of something new. With the right materials and careful execution, it can create more of it.
